John William Snow (born August 2, 1939) was the CEO of CSX Corporation, and served as the 73rd United States Secretary of the Treasury under U.S. President George W. Bush. He received a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Virginia in 1965. From 1965 to 1968, he was an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Maryland. He completed a Juris Doctor at the George Washington University Law School in 1967 and then worked at the Washington, DC law firm of Wheeler & Wheeler from 1967 to 1972. Snow lives in Richmond, Virginia with his wife Carolyn. He has three children and six grandchildren. Snow's alma mater, Kenyon College, awarded him an honorary LL.D. in 1993.
